Mr. Weiss has 35 years of experience specializing in high technology semiconductor facility design and construction. A prior 12-year resident of Santa Clara, California, Ray was instrumental in the development of six Hewlett Packard facilities in the States of California, Washington, Oregon, and Colorado during the 1970’s. Since relocating to Phoenix, Arizona in 1984, Ray has designed or consulted on over 12 semiconductor-manufacturing facilities worldwide for Motorola, ON Semiconductor, and Chartered Semiconductor. Motorola MOS – 12 M/N Buildings - Chandler, Arizona Full time, 14 month design manager for all interior improvements to a 295,000 S.F., 2 story building including 100,000 S.F. of class 100 clean room fabrication areas, second floor support offices and a 61,000 S.F. central plant.
Medtronic, Buildings 7 & 8 - Tempe, Arizona Building 7 is a 30,000 S.F. semi / clean packaging and distribution building for medical devices.Building 8 is a 65,000 S.F. class 10,000 assembly test facility for cardiovascular implant devices along with a supporting 15,000 S.F. central plant building.
Tokyo Electron Labs - Tempe, Arizona Tokyo Electron Labs of Phoenix, a research and development arm of Tokyo Electron, Ltd., involved the conversion of 6,400 S.F. of warehouse into 1,200 S.F. of Class 100 clean room with the balance of the space used as support area for the clean room.Pizzagalli’s work crews performed demolition, structural modifications, concrete placement, gypsum systems and carpentry.The scope of work also included the installation of new electrical feeds, air handling systems, process piping, exhaust systems and a complete clean room envelope.

Motorola Cellular and Paging Sales Center - Beijing, China Design and construction management for the 160,000 SF paging and cellular group sales and service in central Beijing.
Motorola Electronics Taiwan Limited - Taiwan Programming study for a 36,000 SF Class 100 fabrication facility. The facility capacity will be to process 8,000 - 4-inch diameter wafers per week of micron technology.
Motorola Cellular and Paging Production Facility - Tianjin, China Provided architectural design for a 500,000 SF facility to manufacture cellular telephones and pagers. The facility contained 50,000 SF of support offices, cafeteria, central plant, and a 30,000 SF high bay automated storage/retrieval system for product distribution. The structural steel and aluminum skin structure including all major mechanical equipment, was specified, procured, and shipped from the U.S. to Tianjin, China.
Motorola, Inc. - Tianjin, China Facility design for Motorola’s China Headquarters which includes a 100,000 SF of semiconductor Assembly Test Production Facility with an additional 70,000 SF office and central plant for cellular and paging operations.
Motorola, Inc., CS-1 Facility - Tempe, Arizona Design of a 64,000 SF Gallium Arsenide wafer fabrication pilot research and development facility. The cleanroom consists of approximately 10,000 SF of Class 10, 6,000 SF of Class 1,000 service /utility and 2,500 SF of probe.
Motorola, Inc., ATC/BP-6 Facility - Chandler, Arizona Architectural design services for the Motorola facility in Chandler, Arizona. Sandia National Laboratory - Albuquerque, New Mexico A 54,000 SF research facility with state of the art vibration and environmental control system. The $11 Million research facility contains environmental support systems capable of temperature control to ± .01 degrees and relative humidity of ± 3%. The entire facility is provided with electromagnetic shielding.
Abbott Laboratories, Ross Division - Casa Grande, Arizona A 30,000 SF addition and remodel of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
